Maruti, Archies team up for 'My Car Day'

Diehard car fans will have a reason to celebrate their indulgence with Maruti Udyog Ltd and greetings card company Archies Ltd extending the events calendar by jointly announcing December 14 as `My Car day'.

This initiative is essentially to commemorate the rollout of the first Maruti 800 in the country 21 years ago.

Archies Ltd, which is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary together with the Indian auto giant, has introduced a special range of cards depicting the `My Car day' theme.

This day will be celebrated and observed every year and will see car aficionados renewing their passion, the press release stated.

These cards will be distributed as free giveaways to existing and potential customers and to those who walk into the Maruti Udyogshowrooms.

Mr Jagdish Kattar, Managing Director, Maruti Udyog, said in a press statement, "On this date 21 years ago, the first Maruti rolled out of the Maruti factory and our lives changed forever. . It is a day when millions of car lovers across the country spare a moment for this companion on four wheels."

According to Mr Anil Moolchandani, Chairman and Managing Director, Archies Ltd, "We are giving an opportunity to the Indian masses to celebrate the simple joy of owning a car one loves; because everything you love should be celebrated."
