With colleges reopening and the freshers just about settling down, JAM magazine, in association with Clinic All Clear has launched its special initiative Back 2 College.
JAM magazine’s five-year-old event, Back 2 College, is being celebrated in Mumbai till July 29 after which the event will move to Delhi and will be on till August 10. The title sponsor of this event is Clinic All Clear. Other sponsors include Motorola, Kinetic Blaze and Maybelline New York.
Elaborating on the initiative, Yatendra Bansal, CEO, JAM magazine, said, “This is a property built by JAM to welcome college students and celebrate college life. All freshers of Delhi University are invited for concert and the processed data base will be used in the JAM magazine’s website through which students will interact with other freshers after logging on through a unique user name and password. The event will close in Mumbai with a party in Velocity, while in Delhi, the event will close with a concert.”
A road show with two floats is traveling to 30 colleges and shopping malls. Students will be encouraged to participate in the games and contests. Each venue will have events like ‘John-a-Be’, an event where boys who have long hair will be invited to participate and contestants with the coolest demeanor will be crowned as ‘John-a-Be’.
‘Flash a lash’ by Maybelline New York will give contestants a chance to a one-minute makeover and the best makeover will win Maybelline hampers and an invite to the party.
Contestants can also test ride the new Kinetic Blaze 165 cc bike and the best riders
on the Kinetic Blaze can ride their way into the party at Velocity. Kinetic Blaze also has a model hunt, where the best face across all locations will be chosen as a Kinetic model and his face will be flashed in their print campaigns.
Contestants will also get a chance to win Motorola phones through a numeric hint that they can decode and guess the correct word. On SMSing the right answer, winners will not only be invited to the party but also have a chance to win the new slim MOTOSLVR.
Only girls will be allowed to pull out a MOTOPEBL from a bucket full of rocks and pebbles. Other contests include all girls arm wrestling and ‘hoop the phone’, where winners will be decided based on their aiming skills. Contestants can also win JAM magazine subscriptions through some contests.
Celebrations in Delhi will be on from August 1-9 and will wind up with a concert in Delhi University’s North Campus on August 10 with live shows by Euphoria and Parikrama. MTV will be shooting three full episodes of the concert for MTV Super Select, while Radio City is the radio partner for the Delhi concert.
Back 2 College will move to Pune and Bangalore in mid-August.
