Indian cricket team to wear new logo

Indian cricket team will wear a new logo during the Champions Trophy. Sahara India group has decided to replace the logo Sahara with Subrata, which happens to be the first name of its chairman Subrata Roy, following an objection raised by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The new logo has been forwarded to ICC in London and Sahara expects an approval before the close of working hours in London on Wednesday.

ICC had raised objections to the word Sahara, since ICC’s official sponsor South African Airlines is also in the business of aviation. According to sources Sahara had three options — to withdraw from sponsorship, change the logo (which meant having no commercial value) and take a legal course.
