Hutch, the cellular services provider, will focus on spreading the word about its Hutch Online service in the next bout of advertising. The company has tied up with Yahoo! for e-mail, chat, Messenger service, ringtones and downloads. Hutch is now advertising its various value-added services in the current phase of its ad campaign.
Since it started its Chennai operations, Hutch has acquired around 25,000 subscribers in July and August while the l addition during this period to the cellphone user base in Chennai was 50,000.
Prior to Hutch's entry, the net additions per month ranged between 7,000 and 9,000 only.
