HUL Q2FY17 profit soars 11.5% to Rs 1,095 crore

Hindustan Unilever has released its Q2FY17 results. During the quarter, HUL’s profit grew by 11.5 percent year-on-year to Rs 1,095.60 crore while revenue during the quarter grew by 1.6 percent to Rs 8,480.3 crore compared with Rs 8,348.60 crore in corresponding period last year.

During Q2FY17, domestic consumer business grew at 2 per cent, while the company’s volume growth stood at 1 per cent during the quarter against 4 per cent growth in Q1FY17 and 7 percent in Q2 FY16. EBITDA increased 5 percent year-on-year to Rs 1,404.62 crore during the quarter.

Personal care segment  registered a 0.33 percent degrowth year-on-year at Rs 4,028 crore, impacted by slowing markets and personal wash volumes, while the home care business grew by 3.2 percent to Rs 2,777 crore during Q2FY17.

The FMCG major reported net profit of Rs 982.17 crore in the corresponding quarter of last financial year, the company said in a statement.
