High buzz and excitement at grand felicitation for Pitch Top 50 Brands

An eclectic evening it turned out to be when all the 50 brands were excited for being a part of the celebration at the Pitch Top 50 Brands at The Leela, Gurgaon. The Guest of Honour – Santosh Desai, MD & CEO, Future Brands and also the Jury Chair at the Pitch Top 50 Brands Jury panel felt that there were some brands that did outstanding work. The panel also looked at the brands that have been not much in news but deserved to be in the list.

“We do not advertise much and thus never expected to be on such lists because I always thought that to be on such lists one needs to make an outstanding advertising effort. But I really appreciate the research done. Such recognitions are definitely a booster to the brand,” said Harish Manwani, GM – Rural Operations, Piramal Water Pvt. Ltd. Sarvajal won in the category of Social Contributors.

What has been making the most buzz all this while were the categories. Judges and the awardees thought that categories were well crafted and added lot of interest in knowing the brands featuring in those categories. “The Newsmakers was the most difficult category to choose from, as brands often come into the limelight for wrong reasons,” said Moneka Khurana, Strategic Consultant and Trainer – Digital Services, Independent Consultant and a member at the Pitch Top 50  Brands jury panel.

Adding to what Khurana said, Rajat Mukarji, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Idea Cellular said, “The categories were the most interesting part for me. I think they brought a lot of flavour to the listing of the brands. Also, the fact that brands were not plainly numbered with positions was interesting to see. I would definitely look forward to be a part of the listing next year too.”

The list was unveiled by Desai and other jury members present. The trophies were felicitated to the brands by jury members as well as some renowned marketing professionals. Shubodip Pal, CMO, Micromax excitedly shared, “It is exciting to share a space in the category of Master Connectors with our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

The brand of the year – Flipkart also won in another category of The Newsmakers. “Flipkart was the strongest contender due to their wonderful marketing innovations. They have been on top of the mind with their services,” said Desai.

Some of the interesting brands that were most applauded at the event were Bollywood – The Globetrotter, Narendra Modi – The Master Connector, Old Monk – The Evergreen and Paper Boat – The Innovator. People felt that there was no biased research that went behind the listing of these brands and which makes it truly worthy.
