HDFC Standard Life unveils new corporate identity at Pitch CMO Summit

Amid the insightful sessions and addresses, the Mumbai leg of the Pitch CMO Summit 2010, held on November 16, saw a buzz of excitement when Sanjay Tripathy, Executive Vice President and Head – Marketing, HDFC Standard Life, unveiled the company’s new logo and corporate identity at the event.

Organised by ‘Pitch’ magazine, the advertising and marketing monthly from the exchange4media Group, the Summit saw India’s top marketers sharing their marketing mantras. The Pitch CMO Summit this year also marked the seventh anniversary celebrations of ‘Pitch’ magazine.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Tripathy remarked that the new logo brought a lot of energy into the life insurance brand. “The new logo comes with lots of energy and youthfulness. It is also full of aspirational values. The red colour is symbolic to vibrancy and liveliness that the brand injects into customers life,” he explained.

While admitting that the products that each player offered in the life insurance sector were largely similar, Tripathy emphasised that marketers needed to go beyond what they could offer. “Marketers now have to think what consumers need. Consumers’ needs and preferences have to get reflected in the products that we offer,” he said, adding, “Marketers need to have a better consumer insight.”

Tripathy also shared his experience of working in the particular category. He remarked that the life insurance category in India was still to grow as most of the market still remained untapped. “A great opportunity is laying ahead with the marketers to devise customised offerings and make huge profits by way of serving people in a better way,” he affirmed.

The other top marketers who shared their rich marketing lessons and expert views at the Pitch CMO Summit 2010 in Mumbai included Sanjay Behl, CEO, Reliance Big TV; Chandramouli Venkatesan, Director, Strategy & Chocolates, Cadbury; Shripad Nadkarni, Founder-Director, MarketGate Consulting; Anup Jain, Director, Marketing, Pizza Hut Indian Sub-continent; Ronita Mitra , Head – Corporate Brand Group, ICICI Bank; Vinay Bhatia, VP - Marketing and Loyalty, Shoppers Stop; Sriram Padmanabhan, General Manager, Marketing, Ford India; Peshwa Acharya, VP & Head – Marketing and Consumer Experience, Reliance Retail; and Pratik Seal, Head, Marketing, Micromax.
