Celebrations are already underway at General Motors, which completes a century of its existence in September 2008. GM India’s celebration has been weaved around the forward-looking and visionary theme of ‘GM Next’.
Anisha Motwani, Director-Marketing, GM, said, “A year-long celebration would be taking place in each of the countries that GM has a presence in. We have changed the logo on the 100th year across the world. We have added ‘GM Next’ to the logo. ‘GM Next’ resembles the next generation technologies that are environment friendly.”
Motwani further said, “Events would be organised for customers from time to time. We will be conducting online events as well as events within the organisation for our employees.”
The automobile manufacturer kicked of the 100th year celebrations in Goa recently. It played host to more than 100 customers who flew in from various parts of the country to participate in a glittering event. The evening was packed with spectacular performances by the finalists of the television music reality competition ‘Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’. Actress Rani Mukherji, who is the GM India brand ambassador for Chevrolet Aveo, was also present on the occasion.

An event of this magnitude will help boost the confidence of our customers, while reinforcing GM India’s commitment to offering world-class products that offer outstanding value for money,” said Ankush Arora, VP- Marketing, Sales and After Sales, GM India.
“As part of the celebrations, we are doing a special price celebration of Spark. In the next 12 months, we will be undertaking similar initiatives for our customers. Also, GM India will consolidate its existing portfolio of its cars with a SUV planned for launch in January 2008,” he added.
