Gitanjali Group’s diamond-studded cricket ball for ICL ‘Man of the Series’

The cricketer declared ‘Man of the Series’ at the ICL championship can look forward to some more added glitter apart from the trophy. The Gitanjali Group has unveiled a diamond-studded cricket ball that would be presented to the ‘Man of the Series’ of the Edelweiss 20s Challenge.

The special ball has been designed by Tesoro, using 82.2 gm gold and 30 carat diamonds. The value of this ball is nearly Rs 30 lakh. The company also showcased its men’s range of jewellery, the Captain Collection from Revv.

Mehul Choksi, Chairman, Gitanjali Group, said, “Gitanjali Group would like to be at the heart of young India. We are glad to be associated with cricket, which is the singular most unifying force in a diverse country like India. In a way to honour our demi-Gods, we are presenting them with something that embodies the sentiments and blessings of every Indian in the form of a diamond-studded cricket ball and a line of jewellery that reveres the spirit of the game and salutes its heroes.”

Kiran More, Executive Board Member, Indian Cricket League (ICL), said, “It is extremely encouraging to see corporate come forward to support the game of cricket. The launch of this diamond ball for the ‘Man of the Series’ of Edelweiss 20s Challenge and the new jewellery line have further cemented our association with Gitanjali Group. We look forward to doing more interesting stuff in future.”

Gaurav Marya, MD, Gitanjali Group, said, “We have created the Captain collection keeping cricket in mind. The entire collection is made of steel, which is priced very nominally starting from Rs 500 up to Rs 10,000. The collection has pendants, bracelets, rings and cuff links specially designed to bring out the sporty style. The moment we are through with the ICL sponsorship initiative, we will be doing a lot of promotional activities with our advertising agency that would include TVC, print and below-the-line initiatives.”

Meanwhile, the Gitanjali Group also acquired the sponsorship rights of Kolkata Tigers of the Edelweiss 20s Challenge.
