EEMAGINE 2011 gets underway in Goa today

EEMAGINE 2011, the annual national convention of Event and Entertainment Management Association, is being held in Goa from August 4-6, 2011. The fourth edition EEMAGINE will hold seminars and discussions on the events and experiential marketing industry.

Eminent speakers like Deep Kalra, Founder and CEO, Makemytrip; Harish Kirshnamachar, Senior VP – South Asia, World Sport Group; and Prema Sagar, Principal and Founder, Genesis Burson-Marsteller, among many others will address the convention.

The main aim of the event is to highlight the achievements and milestones of the events and experiential marketing industry over the years and discuss the bright and lucrative future of the fast growing industry. “The theme for the fourth edition of EEMAGINE is ‘Scaling up’ and is launched with a vision to take the industry to the next level of success and prosperity,” divulged Brian Tellis, President, EEMA. Key topics that will be discussed include scaling up the business/ organisation, how to create a great work environment, event risk management and safety, sports marketing – the new game, and so on.

EEMA currently has more than 100 members and reportedly churns out more than 70 per cent of the organised turnover of this industry. EEMA was established with the vision to unify the event and entertainment industries. The association functions as a single entity while voicing their concerns to the Government and other statutory bodies. Apart from this, EEMA also proves to be the repository for venues, artists and vendors and advising its members on industry standards and best practices. “EEMAGINE has been setting new standards each year and 2011 has seen more than 250 registrations from the event industry,” said Tellis.

He also added that the resource and talent pool is tremendous this year and it stands for involvement. In addition to the seminars, EEMAGINE will also acknowledge the work of the individuals in the event and experiential marketing space with the third edition of the EEMAX Awards. EEMAX will have 66 awards in 22 diverse categories with more than 100 agencies sending in over 500 nominations.

The jury panel for EEMAX comprises some of the most distinguished names from the industry like Sameer Kapoor, CEO, NDTV India, Nirmal Dayani, Senior Director Marketing, ESPN Software India Pvt. Ltd., H.V. Subramaniam, Chairman, Publicis Capital, Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President, Canon India Pvt. Ltd., Subhash Kamath, Managing Partner, BBH and Nalin Kapoor, General Manager – Marketing Strategy, Hyundai Motor India Limited.
