Colgate to offer miniatures of cricket players

Percept D’Mark has signed a contract with toothpaste giant Colgate-Palmolive in a deal that will offer miniatures of renowned Indian and international cricket stars in every dental pack you buy.

Percept D’Mark has already tied up with key Indian cricketers including Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammed Kaif and Virendra Sehwag among others. Percept D’Mark is also talking with Carl Hooper of West Indies, Nasser Hussain of England, Ricky Ponting of Australia, Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka apart from stars such as Brian Lara to sign the contracts. Unfortunately this doesn’t include Sachin Tendulkar.

However Colgate-Palmolive declined to comment on the tie-up. According to sources, Percept D’Mark will start negotiations with corporates to franchise the international rights on the miniatures on a region-wise basis.

The miniatures will be manufactured in China for the obvious cost advantage there and will be made in millions of pieces as demand for the product is expected to be very high.

The Mumbai-based image management company has also tied up with LG Electronics for an advertisement film which will include the captains of all the teams which are taking part in the World Cup 2003.
