Buongiorno a multinational leader in digital entertainment, has unveiled plans to launch its premium digital store, Blinko Gold, in India in the next three months. Buongiorno is also looking to open offices in Mumbai and invest $200 million globally over the next 3-4 years on expansion.
Simone Ranucci Brandimarte, CEO & COO, Buongiorno (Hong Kong) Ltd, said, “The Blinko Gold product is being currently strategised and will cater to multi-price points, catering to the masses, the mid segment as well as the niche segment with GPRS.”
Commenting on the VAS mobile market in India, Ranucci said, “It is a $500 million B2B market, and from our estimate, we presume it will grow close to $2-3 billion by 2010 and another $5-6 billion by 2012. Given the consumer base that is increasing and the growing mobile market in India, we expect a 35 per cent yearly growth.”
“We are amongst the best in mobile content. We provide music, video, games, social networking, mobile and Internet TV. We operate through two business lines – mobile, value-added services (consumer services), which are further distributed through a global brand like Blinko Gold as well as through partnerships with telecom and media groups like Indiatimes, MTV, New Sports, Tata, Samsung, Vodafone, Airtel, etc.,” Ranucci added.
Miland Pathak, Co-CEO & Country Manager, Buongiorno (Hong Kong) India Ltd, said, “Our strategy is to work extensively with media groups and increase the quality and quantity of business in the B2B and B2O spheres.”
He further said, “We are drawing our advertising plans and would be calling for a multi-agency pitch soon for our creative and media duties.”
