Brunico Communications Ltd. (Brunico), a recognized leader in business-to-business publishing and events serving the global media and entertainment industry has announced that that it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Achilles Media Ltd. (Achilles), including the operating rights to the Banff World Media Festival (BANFF).

Based in Toronto, Achilles Media is a producer of leading events for the entertainment industry—including BANFF, nextMedia and the Digi Awards—in addition to the Canadian Innovation Exchange (CIX), Canada’s foremost showcase and networking conference for early-stage technology companies seeking capital.

Russell Goldstein, President and CEO, Brunico said, “We look forward to welcoming the Achilles team to Brunico and, in particular, have long admired the iconic BANFF Festival. Achilles has done a remarkable job building some of the most respected events in the industry, and it is with great privilege that we have the opportunity to be a part of growing this success story in the years to come.”

Robert Montgomery, CEO, Achilles Media said, “Brunico is the natural partner to help Achilles realize the full potential of its event portfolio while staying true to the needs of the communities they serve. We believe our clients and stakeholders are in excellent hands for the future.”
