Bose Corporation India, manufacturers of audio technology products, is looking into producing headphones for the defence sector in India.
Bose may supply the defence sector with headphones, but no time frame has been fixed, said a spokesperson of Bose Corporation. Bose was supplying headphones to the defence sector in the United States (US) and assisted the infrastructure and scientific divisions there too.
It launched a new range of speakers branded Bose Computer Music Monitor at the top-end, priced at Rs 21263. It had a small footprint with zero distortion, she claimed. The product was launched in USA States three months back.
The privately held company, based in US, had 16 outlets in India. It aimed to open more in the near future. It sold directly to consumers in India and did not have a franchise model. Bose did not believe in the franchise model since such sellers pushed products which suited their interests, she said.
Globally, Bose had a turnover of $2.5 billion, with five manufacturing units in Ireland, Mexico and USA. Bose India had global tie-ups with leading car companies. In India, it would supply Audi cars with audio systems. Sound systems in premium hotels and theatres were a good business in eastern India, she said.
