What’s the similarity between Rahul Dravid and Bank of Baroda? Both are bankable, reliable, unfazed by turbulent times. No wonder then, that Rahul Dravid has been signed as the brand ambassador for Bank of Baroda, as it unveiled its new logo.
The new logo with double B and sporting the rising sun, reflects Bank of Baroda’s energy, high spirit and humility.
Anil Khandelwal, Chairman and Managing Director, Bank of Baroda, said, “By now, Bank of Baroda has been in the business for 97 years and has spread its reach in 20 countries across the globe.” Sharing more on the concept of the new logo, Khandelwal said, “The new logo conveys that like the sun, Bank of Baroda is omnipresent. Like the sun, it enables life and sustains it.”
When asked why Rahul Dravid was zeroed on to be the brand ambassador, Khandelwal said, “Just like Rahul Dravid is Mr. Dependable, Bank of Baroda is a dependable bank. Like Rahul Dravid plays well in both forms of the game, Bank of Baroda maintains consistency across traditional and modern banking. Like Rahul Dravid is an international icon, Bank of Baroda is also an international star.”
Among new reforms, the bank is working on a massive programme of technology and plans to introduce new products in future. In a limited way, it plans to introduce 24-hour banking. It will be the first PSU to start 8 am to 8 pm banking.
By the end of the year, it plans to set up 1000 ATM centres and 1500 branches across the country. Also, a public issue is in the offing. It has tied up with HP for technological reforms.
Khandelwal said, “We are expecting 25 per cent growth in operating profit. The NPAs have come down from 2.9 per cent to 1.45 per cent and attempts are on to reduce it further below 1 per cent.”
Two of the bank’s old customers, Santosh More and Yusuf Ali (Dubai) shared their special experiences with the Bank of Baroda and congratulated it as it embarked on a new journey.
