Atit Mehta to head Media, S Asia at HUL; C Abhiroop made Category Dir

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has begun 2013 with some senior level changes. Atit Mehta, who is currently Country Media Manager at HUL, will don the role of Head of Media Services – South Asia for Unilever South Asia. Mehta brings to the table over 10 years’ experience in media planning and buying. His had earlier worked with brands such as Colgate Palmolive as Country Media Manager and had also spent considerable time as Business Director at GroupM. He takes over from C Abhiroop, who will now assume a new role as Category Director.

It may be recalled that Unilever had appointed C Abhiroop as Head of Media Services for Unilever South Asia in November 2011, wherein he was working with Rahul Welde, Vice President, Media - Asia, Africa, Middle East, Turkey and Russia, Unilever. Abhiroop has been with HUL for some time now and has been working across different categories.

The news could not be confirmed with the HUL officials at the time of filing this report.

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
