Anupama Ahluwalia exits Coca Cola, joins Reliance Jio

Anupama Ahluwalia, former Vice President - Marketing, India and South West Asia, The Coca Cola Company has moved to Reliance Jio as Marketing Head, confirm industry sources. In September last year, Coca-Cola India undertook top level changes, wherein Debabrata Mukherjee, who was then Vice-President, Strategy and Still Beverages, took on the role of Vice-President, Marketing and Commercial, whereas Ahluwalia took a short-term leadership assignment with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages to get direct experience within the company’s bottling system .

Ahluwalia whose current LinkedIn profile reads ‘transitioning to a new opportunity’ did not comment on her new role. In her role as Vice President - Marketing, India and South West Asia The Coca Cola Company, Ahluwalia leads the marketing strategies for India and South West Asia at the global beverages giant Coca-Cola. She has been at the helm of marketing affairs in the companies she has worked with and has created some remarkable marketing campaigns for the telecom brand Idea Cellular. Under her leadership, Idea launched a string of successful campaigns such as break the language barrier or ‘get Idea’, to become the third largest private GSM operator with over seven crore subscribers. The innovative ads also brought a great brand recall value to the telecom service provider.  ‘Break the language barrier’ TVC tapped those consumers who moved out of one city to another in search of jobs or education.

Anupama Ahluwalia was also featured in IMPACT Top 50 Most Influential Women List 2012.
