Allen Solly, a premium brand of Madura Garments, is looking at new opportunities in India and is all set to expand its retail presence in the country.
Speaking to Business Standard, Simon Smith, retail director, Allen Solly said on Friday that the company is planning to open 13 new flagship stores across the country by March 2009. It will focus on cities including Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore. This will take the number of Allen Solly's flagship stores in the country to 63.
"We are setting up an outlet in Delhi by end of July, which will be the biggest Allen Solly store in the country," he said.
The company estimates that its retail business will double in a year, and bets big on India through retail expansion and launch of new categories. The brand is foraying into kidswear later this year.
"We are currently test marketing kidswear in two of our outlets in Delhi and Bangalore. Depending on the response, we will extend it to our company-owned outlets, franchisee showrooms and multi-brand outlets in the months to come," Smith said.
Allen Solly is doing an extensive market study in India to get customer feedback on its products and stores, he added.
