ABD acquires 50% brand rights in Herman Jansen's Mansion House & Savoy Club

Allied Blenders and Distillers (ABD) has purchased 50 per cent ownership rights in the brands Mansion House and Savoy Club from Herman Jansen Beverages Nederland BV. The two Groups have also signed a partnership arrangement in which ABD will produce and market brandy brand Mansion House in India.

At present, ABD has a small presence in the brandy category with its premium brandy Kyron and semi-premium brandy Lord & Master. With a 50 per cent brand ownership of Mansion House, ABD plans to consolidate and further strengthen its market share in the brandy segment, especially in the four southern states in India, which account for 98 per cent of the total brandy sales in India.

Speaking on this strategic partnership, Deepak Roy, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO, ABD said, “Our strategic partnership is an important step to strengthen our portfolio and presence in the premium brandy segment in India. Our existing strong distribution network and a renowned brand like Mansion House will yield significant results for this partnership. This marks another important milestone in ABD’s strategy for sustainable growth.”

Henricus Th F Jansen, Director of Herman Jansen added here, “ABD is very strong player in India. It has a strong production and distribution network which will provide the required infrastructure to make the brand stronger in India.”

Brandy is the second largest category, contributing to 25 per cent of the Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) industry, and is one of the fastest growing categories over the last few years.
