Apollo Health and Lifestyle Limited (AHLL), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Apollo Hospitals Group, has appointed A G Rajan as Senior Vice President – Marketing.
Rajan, an MBA from IIM, Kolkata, brings with him over thirty years of experience in marketing and business development with companies like Lipton, ITC, Sterling Tree Magnum and Spartek Ceramics. In his new role at AHLL, Rajan will be responsible for conceptualizing, devising and implementing marketing programmes, which will support the overall business strategy in the country and overseas.
On Rajan’s appointment, Ratan Jalan, CEO, AHLL, said, “Rajan brings with him not just good marketing skills but also the ability to build an organisation. Today, when AHLL is on its way to set up a large chain of franchised day-to-day healthcare centers – The Apollo Clinic across India and overseas -- we are very confident that his appointment will add tremendous value to the organisation.”
Prior to joining AHLL, Rajan worked with Pomsy Food Products, Kerala, where he established a state-of-the-art facility to manufacture biscuits and snack foods and made Pomsy the second largest selling brand in Kerala in just over one year after start up. “I am very excited about this assignment at AHLL as I believe that marketing is going to play a key role in building ‘The Apollo Clinic’ brand, which will change the healthcare landscape of this country,” Rajan said.
AHLL was recently awarded the ‘Franchisor of the Year Award’ at FranchiseIndia 2003. The company is credited with setting and successfully achieving international level healthcare standards in India. Utmost care has been taken to ensure that the customers get the best at the Apollo Clinics. IIM Bangalore and NIS have been engaged to provide training to the franchisees and the employees of the clinic while Wipro Healthcare IT has provided the entire clinic management software. Renowned Architect Alfaz Miller has spearheaded the architecture, interiors, signage and project execution and designer Ravi Bajaj has designed the staff uniforms.
