70% of our marketing budget still goes to traditional media: Sudhin Mathur, Lenovo

Lenovo has recently launched three smartphones to consolidate their presence in the Indian market, and be relevant during the festive season. The Chinese handset maker is planning to expand its service centre network and open new outlets.

Talking to exchange4media about future plans, Sudhin Mathur, Director, Smartphone Business, Lenovo said, “Apart from launching five different phones we are enhancing the customer experience, we are opening up exclusive Lenovo Moto service centre in this country.”

Currently, Lenovo is the number five smartphone brand in India. When asked what are his plans to gain the top spot, he replied, “The journey from here is only up, it’s been only two years, since Lenovo started business in the country and in a very short duration of two year we are among the top five brands in the country, we are expecting to move up from our current position.”

Mathur feels digital is growing, but still the customers buy more number of phones offline. When asked about how much they are spending during this festive season, he denied to give any figures, but said, “We addressed both the customer, online and offline, we are seeing increase in online trends, but still 70% of our marketing media spends on offline channel.”
