21N78E appoints Nikhil Shahane as Chief Operating Officer

21N78E Creative Labs, set up by Sudhir Nair and Navin Karkera, has roped in Nikhil Shahane to oversee and expand the business as its Chief Operating Officer. He will also be part of the management team.

Once a professional gamer, Shahane is a self-proclaimed problem solver, technophile, and a wannabe hacker. He has worked extensively in the field of communications, advertising, design, and technology over the last decade. He ran a new tech and design start-up for five years before taking the next big step into 360 digital advertising at Grey Digital. He was part of the core team that helped Grey Digital win the Agency of the Year at IDMA 2014. He was also one of the winners at The Web Design International Festival, 2008.

Post Grey, Shahane joined Leo Burnett's - Indigo Consulting as VP for Mobility, Intl' and Integrated Business. He was the digital lead on some of its marque-integrated clients.

Commenting on this Sudhir Nair, Founder and CEO, 21N78E, said, “Nikhil had worked with me for nearly five years at Grey and we have a great level of comfort in terms of how we operate individually. I have seen Nikhil grow exponentially and given the DNA with which we are trying to build 21N78E, he was the perfect candidate to have the conversation with. We have done well for ourselves in our first year of inception. The fact that we have our own e-products too at the centre of operations indicates that the play is much bigger. We are in an investment phase. Getting key people is crucial to fast forward our plans. Stay tuned in for more from our end.”

Shahane added, “I was excited when Sudhir set up 21N78E. However, I wasn’t entirely sure of what the plan was. Since I was also keen on building e-products, we started talking. Now that I have met the management team and being privy to the organisational vision, I am quite sure it is the right decision to join the team and take charge. I have already got involved in some of the pitches taking place and the line of thinking is different and refreshing. The products are in beta stage with a lot of effort going into strategizing the distribution part of it. 2017 has begun on a very exciting note.”
