‘Pitch’, a monthly magazine from the exchange4media Group, felicitated India’s top 50 service brands at a ceremony held in Mumbai on February 3, 2009. The awards were given away by Anurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of exchange4media Group.
It may be recalled that for its fifth anniversary issue, Pitch had commissioned IMRB International to conduct a national survey to rank the top 50 service brands. These brands were ranked on the basis of their familiarity and performance on the following six parameters – popularity, trust, uniqueness, pride of association, value for money and convenience.
The survey was conducted in nine cities amongst individuals both males and females in the age group of 20-44 years, belonging to SEC A&B. A total of 2,220 consumers were interviewed. Then finally, the survey arrived at the top 50 service brands, which represent sectors like mobile telephony, financial services like banking, life insurance and credit cards, airlines, retail and media and entertainment. The list was divided into two separate lists of the top brands – one is 33 brands from non-media sectors and the other list included 17 media brands.
