Virgin Comics, Total Multimedia to put Tendulkar in comic books, animations & games

Virgin Comics, Total Multimedia Ltd and cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar have collaborated to create a superhero character, ‘Sachin The Master Blaster’, for comic books, animation and games. The monthly comic book is expected to hit newsstands later this year, while the games and animation series will be developed simultaneously.

According to Suresh Seetharaman, President, Virgin Comics and Virgin Animation, “Virgin has always worked with people who are prominent, and most importantly, who have set goals for themselves in life and achieved them too. Sachin Tendulkar is well recognised as an achiever globally, and it works best to have him as the hero for our comic, gaming and animation series.”

“As we continue to expand our animation facilities in Mumbai and London, we are proud to partner with Virgin Comics to create this exciting new character and story that will surely live beyond the pages of the comic book,” added Arif Morbiwalla, Founder, Total Multimedia.

Seetharaman added that although the ad agency for handling the launch of the series hasn’t been decided upon, the company is planning an extensive viral campaign, and will have a host of gaming activities during the actual launch. Virgin Comics will also have many more tie-ups with Total Multimedia in the future.
