Hungama TV gets kids busy with a clean pyjama hunt this summer

Following the success of ‘Pyjama Pakdo Contest’ and ‘Revenge of the Pyjamas’, Hungama TV returns with another version of interactive contest, ‘Pyjamagadh Ke Dholay’. The channel has also lined up new episodes of ‘Kiteretsu and Tensai Bakabon’ and a new show called ‘Backyard Science’ for the vacation season.

Aparna Bhosle, Director – Programming and Production, The Walt Disney Television International (India), said, “We have combined elements that are really popular with kids in India – Hindi films and the Hungama Pyjamas. It can’t get madder than this. The Hungama TV message to kids this summer is very simple – Don’t be a pyjama, catch one.”

After the success of ‘Pyjama Pakdo Contest’ and ‘Revenge of the Pyjamas’, the extended version of this contest has now shifted base to Pyjamagadh. The contest has started from May 5, 2008.

The contest focuses on the hygiene factor while adding fun with the channel’s contest characters called Pyjama ‘Bhai’, Biddu’ Pyjama, Pyjama ‘Thakur Kutting’ and Pyjama ‘Gobbar Singh’.

To join the hygiene force against dirty Gobbar Singh, viewers will have to collect cleaning agents such as balti, sabun, rassi, brush, water-tanki, etc., that appear as bugs all through the day on the channel. Once they note the unique codes on these, they need to SMS the codes Hungama TV.

New elements like Bai, Khotta Sikka and Istri would also be added to keep the interest levels high. Participants would get promoted for collecting maximum points as the level progresses from ‘Cleaning Agent’ to a ‘Washing Commander’ to a ‘Major Jhag’, then ‘Dhule Raja’, and finally the ‘Bedaag Badshah’.

Movie CDs, hand-held video game, digital camera, portable multi-media player and handycam would be given away as the participants get promoted at each level. At the end of this month-long contest, the grand prize winner would get to win a home theatre system with an in-house projection system.
