DishTV, Visiware join hands to launch interactive edutainment games channel for kids

DishTV and gaming service provider Visiware have jointly launched Minikids TV, a fun games channel for pre-schoolers, where the games are navigated by animated characters that help kids not only enjoy themselves but also learn to master their various skills at the same time.

The games on Minikids TV help kids identify colours, match pictures, solve puzzles, spot the differences and much more. The initial four edutainment games have been designed to develop creativity, observation, audio skills and visual memory of kids starting as young as two years.

Commenting on the launch, Arun Kumar Kapoor, CEO, DishTV, said, “Our endeavour at DishTV is to provide the best in-home entertainment. Adding education is yet another dimension to enhance our already robust gaming offering. The games are interactive and help hone the various skills that are very important for the overall development of a kid’s personality. These games will arm even toddlers and pre-schoolers to prepare for today’s hugely competitive scenario. For parents, they can relax in the knowledge that their children are not idling their time but indulging in an exercise that is a mind-booster.”

Frederic Fellague, Marketing Director, Visiware, said, “We are delighted to launch our Minikids TV offering on DishTV as a unique value-added edutainment games service for pre-schoolers.”

Minikids TV is already available on Bell Express Vu in Canada, SKY TV in New Zealand and StarHub in Singapore. Fellague said, “We are very proud to launch in India with DishTV as their pioneering, innovative spirit is completely in sync with ours. This is a time when kids are a high growth market and kids’ products are a force to reckon with. With the burgeoning base of DTH subscribers in India, we are sure Minikids TV will contribute to the growth path that DishTV has carved for itself.”

MiniKids TV adds another dimension to the existing DishTV gaming portal, which already offers games spanning various genres like mind, action, arcade and cards for all age groups, through its association with Playjam, another DTH gaming player.
