Cartoon Network and POGO, India's top two kids television networks which together have 80 per cent channel share, have lined up some exciting programming for this summer vacation.
The star attractions of the summer vacation lineup on POGO include the launch of two brand new Indian productions, M.A.D, an acronym for Music, Art and Dance, on April 24 at 11.30 am, and Bam Bam Bam Gir Pade Hum premiering in June. Besides, some exciting movies are also on the anvil in the coming month, Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets being one of them.
Cartoon Network on the other hand is offering a host of new programmes in May and June. As part of its special programming called 'Summer Holidays Movie Masti', the channel will be showcasing nine big movies in the next two months. Besides, it will host the world premiere of locally produced animation film 'Vikram Aur Betaal' on June 19 at 12:00 noon.
Announcing this in the Capital on Tuesday, Ian Diamond, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, Turner Entertainment Networks Asia, said, "As leaders in the kids television segment, we have constantly set new benchmarks in providing our fans a combination of world class programming with just the right touch of local productions and acquisitions. The latest additions on POGO's schedule clearly demonstrate our commitment to innovate and entertain with a keen eye on quality and relevance."

When asked on the promotional strategy, Diamond said, "All our major launches will be supported by a well-rounded marketing campaign including on-line, on-air and other activities like contests, etc."
An aggressive marketing strategy has been chalked out around POGO's new show M.A.D. which will be promoted through several school contact programmes in Delhi and Kolkata. Besides ground activity, cinema activity, outdoors, print campaigns has also been chalked out.
