After IPL, now it’s time for the Jetix Premier League (JPL)

No, the Jetix Premier League (JPL) is not a cricket tournament for kids, but a one-of-a-kind initiative where viewers will form their individual on-air teams to compete in the Jetix Premier League played on the channel. The channel will tour 600 schools and engage four lakh kids across six metros.

To participate and form an on-air team, viewers will have to bid for the ‘Jetix Icon’ of their city by sending an SMS or calling a given number. Popular superheroes and characters on the channel – Storm Hawks, Power Rangers, Inspector Gadget, Dennis the Menace, American Dragon Jake Long and Hero represent the ‘Jetix Icons’.

Top scorers for each city would be awarded as the ‘Player of the Day’, JPL Power Player and JPL Champions of Champions. Along with JPL team merchandise, the 11 top players would win video games and CDs at the end of this three-week contest. The bidding for the Jetix Icons began on July 5 and the contest goes live on Jetix from August 18.

Though the school relationship programme, Jetix would drive character familiarisation of its icon players and engage kids in on-the-spot games.

Kids would also get an opportunity to win goodies, with over 35,000 prizes up for grabs for the participants during the sessions. To add to the excitement, every kid would get a Jetix Premier League game pack.
