Disney Channel will premiere its original animated series ‘Phineas and Ferb’ on February 1, 2008 at 11 am. Produced by Walt Disney Television Animation, ‘Phineas and Ferb’ is an imaginative comedy from noted animation producers Dan Povenmire (‘Family Guy’) and Jeff ‘Swampy’ Marsh (‘The Simpsons’).
Aparna Bhosle, Director-Programming and Production, Walt Disney Television International (India), said, “The series reflects Disney Channel themes of ‘follow your dreams’, ‘believe in yourself’ and ‘celebrate your family’. A combination of well-told stories of relationships and great action, this series is designed to appeal to both boys and girls across all markets.”
The 2D animated comedy tells the story of step-brothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, who set out to conquer boredom and make every day of their 104-day summer vacation count. Their older sister, Candace, gets frantic at her brothers’ extraordinary adventures, and makes it her life’s work to tattle on them to Mom and Dad.
An official communiqué stated, “The series’ humour is clever and has many levels of sophistication designed to entertain kids and parents alike. Beyond the stories of a modern step-family and the boys’ ingenuity, is a relatable tale of siblings with a wide array of interests and the imagination and fortitude to make their dreams a reality. The series has funny and familiar characters, a new twist on the relatable school vacation mode, and a great combination of witty and physical humour that kids and families will enjoy together.”
