Hindi GEC 9X is planning to beef up its weekend offering with a new children’s reality-based format ‘Chak De Bachche’, in a bid to draw in a younger audience.
Indrani Mukerjea, Founder & CEO, INX Media Pvt Ltd, said, “I am delighted to announce that 9X will soon launch a dance and music extravaganza titled ‘Chak De Bachche’ that will showcase exciting young talent from across the country. This bi-weekly show, conceived and directed by Gajendrra Siingh, will air on weekends and put the spotlight on the best talent among the 8-14 age group.”
Saibaba Telefilms will produce the show. Commenting on the show, Siingh said, “After doing so many musical talent hunt shows, I realised that we should take these shows to another level. We have already explored metros and big towns, and now we are exploring the small cities and towns as they have immense talent which is yet to be explored. For ‘Chak De Bachche’, we will try to seek out complete performers.”
Auditions for the show will take place across key cities of India, including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Indore, Raipur, Jaipur and Varanasi, and is expected to attract participants from scores of other smaller cities and towns as well.
Mukerjea added, “With its unique format, ‘Chak De Bachche’ will offer young India a golden opportunity to showcase their talent. As they say, good things come in small packages, and I’m sure the youngsters on ‘Chak De Bachche’ will leave no stone unturned to prove that right.”
