TAM is a joint venture between Nielsen Company & Kantar Media Research. Besides measuring TV Viewership, TAM also monitors Advertising Expenditure of Television, Print & Radio through its division AdEx India. In 2004, it extended its presence in the PR Measurement & Analysis space for Corporate/Marketing Clients by setting up a separate division – Eikona PR Measurement.

In 2007, the joint venture introduced RAM (Radio Audio Measurement) service to track Radio Listenership for the Indian Radio Broadcast Industry. In year 2009, TAM launched a division, called TAM Sports that specializes in monitoring Sports Sponsorship ROI.

TAM Media Research’s objective is to fuel media insights that will drive the growth of the Indian Media Industry.

Brief about Eikona PR Measurement
Eikona, a division of TAM, specializes in measuring and auditing Corporate’s PR initiatives with reference to competition across TV News Channels, Newspapers, Magazines, Websites and Social Media. TAM Media Research is joint venture between Nielsen and IMRB International.
Organizations Eikona works for
Eikona currently works for organizations across 13 different industry sectors including automobile, beverage, steel, chemicals, TV Channels, Banking, Insurance etc…Some of the companies that Eikona works for are Coke, TATA, Aditya Birla, ICICI, Standard Chartered, Jet Airways etc.
Eikona report is used by Corporate Communications, Marketing/Sales team and Brand Managers, HR team, Top Management/CEO etc.
What is the Eikona report used for by Client organizations?
a) To understand:
a. The way the overall industry sector has used media/editorial/PR for building image, marketing, sales etc.
b. Who amongst the Competition universe has done the best job in the above?
c. What has been the competition’s focus area during the period of analysis – is it HR, is it Brand Sustenance, is it new product launches, is it a particular market, a new positioning etc.
d. What are the Client’s weak points vs strong points with respect to competition?
b) To set Corp Comm/Marcomm targets of benchmarks to be achieved by the Corp Comm and Marcomm teams.

Roles & Responsibility of New Business Development Manager
• The Marketing/Sales/New Business Development professional is required to establish fresh contacts within organizations and approach the Corporate Communications and/or the Marketing heads of those Corporates/Marketing Companies and educate them to use Eikona’s Measurement services resulting in sales and revenue generation for Eikona. This will require travelling outside Mumbai as well.
• The professional will also be expected to look at creating branding opportunities for Eikona in industry forums, track or leverage opportunities where Eikona can publish and sell industry in reports/studies etc.
Requirement of a desired candidate
• Comfortable with MS Excel, PPT and Word.
• Good Relationship building and maintenance skills
• Good acumen of data analysis and interpretation
• Concepts of Branding, Marketing, Sales
• Clear concept of Advertising, Public Relations, Event Management etc.
• Aware of concepts such as Paid vs Unpaid news
• Comfortable or aware of standard industry data base like Readership, Circulation, TV Viewership, MHI, and basic concepts of Quantitative and Qualitative research
• Avid reader of “News” or “Editorial” across Print, TV News Channels, and Online world.

Job Description To supervise, guide and ensure smooth Eikona production across Hunting and Analysis.

a) Role is to take charge of entire Eikona Baroda (operations) set up.

b) Understanding of topics like “media”, “news”, impact of news on companies and brands will give added advantage.

c) Supervise the timely production of reports and scheduled dispatch to the Client servicing team in Mumbai

d) Play the role of a leader, motivator and counsellor and help all Eikona employees with their professional hurdles

g) Manage the finance (P/L) of the Eikona Baroda team set up.
