Job Purpose
To synergise, coordinate and focus all communication activities towards enhancing the recognition & reinforcing the respect of the Save the Children brand in line with Save the Children’s vision, mission and values.
Main responsibilities:
Strategy and financials.
  • Analyse, formulate and articulate, working closely with the CEO, Marketing Director, the Alliance Fundraising Team and other Save the Children organisations, a communication strategy for Save the Children in line with the vision, mission and strategy of the organization in order to effectively position the Save the Children brand to internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as the brand custodian for Save the Children to ensure standardization of designs, formats, audiovisuals, templates themes communication and publicity material etc and lead the improvement of the same
  • Ensure that Save the Children’s communication strategy gets buy in from all stakeholders and is implemented uniformly across all areas of operation
  • Identify and retain external agencies to manage PR and Advertising activities - ensure that these agencies adhere to service level agreements and monitor quality of services
  • Supervise the process of media buying and ensure that content is of a high quality as well as the choice of medium is appropriate
  • Manage the communications budget and ensure that controls are in place to monitor and report on expenditure on returns on investments
Process and communication
  • Undertake organisational and environmental analysis, and prepare the budgets, plans and priorities for the communication function
  • Ensure that the advocacy approach to child rights that organisation has adopted is supported effectively by communication efforts
  • Increase the visibility of organisation and help to position it as the leading working for child rights
  • Ensure that all communication needs for Direct Marketing and Corporate Marketing are met with accuracy as far as the relevant stakeholders are concerned
  • Supervise the process of content development and communication through the Save the Children website - ensure that all web based content is in line with the organisation’s branding & communication strategy
  • Set up processes to monitor compliance with branding norms of organisation across operations, ensure that deviations are highlighted and managed

We are now looking for a Marketing Analyst to join our New Delhi based National Marketing Team.

Context of work
The database marketing activities generate an income derived from:
  • Recruitment of new supporters from a diverse range of channels as part of SC BRB Market Development Programme (MDP).
  • Segmentation and management of our supporter database allied to delivery of creative messages relevant to each segment of supporters or potential supporter is key to our success. The aim is to build satisfying supporter relationships; upgrade levels of support where appropriate and thus enhance the lifetime value of existing and new supporters.
  • The position will be responsible for the analysis of the MDP database; extraction of data for management reports and analysis of donor behaviour to maximise retention, attrition, reactivation and upgrades.
Job Purpose
  • To develop the database to maximise market intelligence and income.
  • To track, analyse and report on marketing campaigns, donor retention programs, donor recruitment and donor upgrade initiatives within the database.
  • To accurately and regularly report on campaign outcomes and marketing initiatives providing written feedback and recommendations on findings, trends and future strategy.
  • To accurately produce reports including reconciliation of the database with financial reports, against projections.
Line Management

The Marketing Research & Business Intelligence Officer will report directly to the Marketing Manager. The role may at times be required to manage full and/or part time or temporary staff.

Working Contacts

Internal

  • Marketing Manager: line-management, support, supervision, assistance and exchange of information.
  • Database Administration: Support and assistance for all database queries and processes.
  • Finance: Reporting the reconciliation of the actual income against budget and projected targets.
  • Customer Services: Liaising on matters such as customer service activities and dealing with problems and queries as they might arise, with associated database amendments.
  • The International Save the Children Alliance: Reporting on the database development, market analysis and trends.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Marketing Department team, especially the customer services team and external suppliers to ensure that supporter segmentation, targeting and data management systems continue to develop in line with direct marketing needs, and develop accurate management reporting of supporter data.
  • Reconcile the MDP database to outside sources.
  • Track each campaign in relation to effectiveness of marketing and income objectives.
  • Database reporting to be conducted as requested by the different areas of the Marketing team.
  • Reports to be detailed and accurate and include all internal management reporting covering campaign analysis, attrition percentages – per product, per sales method; sales, territory analysis, default/delinquency rates; prepare MDP Funders reports where required; prepare quarterly donor database reports where required.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to develop the database to deliver optimum service, information and income.
  • To collate reports for database marketing and to ensure that campaigns are efficiently and accurately recorded.
  • Develop strategies to ensure returned mail is kept at a minimum.
  • Respond flexibly to Save the Children’s marketing needs by taking on a variety of projects which will be allocated.
  • Always look to enhance current processes to improve data integrity.
  • To analyse and develop strategy with the Marketing Manager and Database Administrator to ensure that good quality reporting is regularly delivered on database transactions, sales payment processes and procedures; and that monthly automatic payments balance between bank statements, database numbers and accounts.

  • To work as a member of the SC BRB Marketing Department team to help ensure that the office functions in a cooperative manner.

Person Specification (Essential)
  • Strong analytical and data manipulation skills to enable production of management information, campaign analysis, development of segmentation, development of targeting techniques. Also able to manage predictive supporter behaviour modelling using internal and external expertise.
  • Good IT literacy, including expertise in spreadsheet analysis, and experience in the use of software tools for complex analysis and reporting from large computer databases.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work on own initiative particularly in response to rapidly changing situations, such as during an emergency fundraising campaign.
  • Ability to analyse complex data (such as campaign data) and present conclusions in writing and orally to the team and managers.
  • Ability to contribute to strategic thinking and planning.

To assist the Manager – Corporate Marketing in mobilising corporates and institutions to contribute resources in support of Save the Children’s objectives and activities and positioning Save the Children, among current and potential corporate contributors, as the leading child rights organisation.
Main responsibilities:
Strategy and financials
  • Establish and manage existing alliances and partnerships, and explore new ones to increase the organisation’s reach and the resources generated
  • Take part ownership of the Corporate Marketing budget and help ensure that controls are in place to monitor and report on income and expenditure

Main responsibilities: D2D & F2F activities, Telecalling
  • To lead the D2D & F2F team by ensuring that
    Their numbers are as planned for meeting the numerical targets
    • They are trained sufficiently on the organisation’s activities and approach
    • They have well worked out route plans which are updated regularly
    • They represent the organisation and its appeal adequately to prospective individual donors
    • Events are organised regularly at public venues for generating suitable leads for fundraising
    • Queries and grievances of all individual donors are promptly responded to
  • To lead the Telecalling team by ensuring that
    • Their numbers are as planned for meeting the numerical targets
    • They are trained sufficiently on the organisation’s activities and approach
    • Telecalling databases are adequate and updated for accuracy
    • They represent the organisation and its appeal adequately to prospective individual donors
    • Queries and grievances of all individual donors are promptly responded to
    • There is sufficient coordination between the Telecalling and F2F teams for ensuring prompt follow up on the leads generated
Operations
  • Comply with all the reporting and MIS requirements of the organisation – collect and collate all of these from the reporting team
  • Contribute to the creation and dissemination of relevant communication material for individual donors
  • Assist the backend operations team in issues related to processing payments and other relevant queries
  • Keep the supervisors updated on issues of importance related to donors, market developments etc.
