Purpose Of Role
Work closely on all matters related to the sale of airtime for the station. Enhances revenue through clients

Key Responsibilities
Responsibility Implement sales strategy
Tasks
  • Enhance revenue through direct sales w/advertising agencies and Retail clients
  • Create, maintain and enhance relationships with accounts in identified Retail categories.
  • Devise and deliver presentations to demonstrate the value of the Station's dominating and specialized consumer market while referencing syndicated research data such as Nielsen, etc.
  • Optimise current agency and client relationships
  • Function strategically and tactically to position the Station to dominate the radio space through higher Brand Counts/Direct Clients.
  • Develop sales plans and goals by studying and understanding the station's market and seek approval all sales promotion campaigns from the Sales Head
  • Determine price schedules and discount rates in tandem with the Sales Head.
  • Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
  • Monitor and analyse sales and marketing activity against goals.
  • Scan the environment to gain insights into competitor strategies, potential business opportunities and market trends
Responsibility
Monitor competition and Maintain Relationships with external Agencies / clients
Tasks
  • Be constantly aware of new trends in media.
  • Identify and resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
  • Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.
Performance standards
  • Update Sales Head about market trends
  • Develop relations with Agency/clients resulting in quality business
  • Reports / information in timely fashion
 
Primary Interaction Nature
External
Clients: Agencies, Advertisers, Institutions
  • Maintain and develop new business with clients and agencies to attract their desired demographic.
  • Sell network specials and Radio programming offerings that are of interest to local/regional advertisers
  • Function effectively within local/regional advertisers seeking access to urban/national markets
  • Present professionally to local/regional corporations/institutions
 
Unique Knowledge & Skill Requirement 
  • Strong management skills to direct local sales staff and resources
  • Good with meeting and exceeding targets
  • Familiarity with Mumbai/Bangalore market (geographically) is critical
  • Should have experience in distributor management
  • A polished sales executive with the capacity to gain internal and external consensus, an extremely polished and well groomed professional
  • Strong communication skills to gain consensus internal and external to the local Station.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, strong work ethic. Intelligent strategic thinker.
  • Creative seller who takes advantage of opportunities. A person who can also create their own compelling opportunities for clients and the Company
  • Time management and financial skills.
Profile
Qualification MBA
Experience FMCG (Beverage) / Telecom (Prepaid) / Credit Cards (DSA management) / Media (print or radio)
