Our Growth Story
Consider the statistics: 98% of magazines launched internationally, specifically in the US, shut down in the first year. And 1% in the second. Only 1% survives and thrives. Global Services, the first global media product (we call it a platform) launched out of India, has entered its third year and has been commercially successful in terms of encouraging revenue growth for its existing and new offerings, healthy profitability, and a set of growth-oriented customers.

What’s Different About Us?
Our main audiences lie in the United States of America followed by Europe and then other geographies. We have readers and advertisers even in remote places such as Belarus, Santiago, and Guangdong. The magazine has done well, but what is more important is that from inception itself this brand has been treated as an integrated platform. In other words, the Global Services Content team delivers across print, online, and events. And the sales team sells solutions, and not simply straight advertising, to customers. Content for Global Services is not restricted to only stories that are generated by the team and contributors. Content for Global Services means all content that helps Global Services buyers to move to the next step in the outsourcing process. So besides stories it also delivers important lists to the global ITO and BPO industry, and this delivery has been much appreciated and encouraged by some of our global readers. The Website is a gateway to the outsourcing domain and it is unique in that, besides carrying its own content, it also carries content from other sources, including its competitors. Media 2.0 is what people have begun to call it. … Correct?

The Future
2007 has been a good year for Global Services commercially as well as in terms of reader feedback. We, however, believe that what we have achieved is the tip of the iceberg as the outsourcing industry is yet in a nascent stage. Global Services has undying ambition and a ravenous growth appetite and would like to expand its reach into other geographies as soon as possible. We need to increase our reach in Western Europe as well as other service provider locations such as Eastern Europe, South America, China, etc. We are also considering adding a platform for the service provider community in India within the next one year. For all of this we need to launch different sections and deliver content to the global community.
We will have influential blogs, podcasts, webinars, interactive forums and all such innovations on the online front.

Whom Do We Need for This Journey?
In order to ensure that we continue to facilitate the growth of the global outsourcing industry we need a few young, excited, and like-minded souls. Those who believe they can work across mediums and multi-task and help this platform grow to the next level within a short span of time. The positions we have are:

Content Managers / Assistant Editors / Correspondents / Reporters
These positions require writing, blogging, interacting with readers, dreaming up relevant stories, working along with external contributors, interviewing senior C level executives across the world, maintaining the edit calendar, and most importantly writing actionable content that will help our readers with their work and careers. The exact role for selected individuals will depend on their experience and ability to take on and deliver challenging tasks. Your minimum experience in the content domain will be 2 years – there is no upper limit, but we clearly need younger-minded people who know, understand and can deliver what today’s readers need. Of course preference will be given to persons who have worked across print, online, and events.

Executive Operations & Support / Asst Manager – Operations & Support
While all of the team focuses on delivering content and solutions to customers the person in this role would need to ensure that the backend is in place and firing effectively. Your role would demand working for the internal team, dealing with other departments in the organization, and working with some suppliers as well as customers. You should have similar operations and support experience for at least 2 years. Needless to add that you must be able to multi-task and maneuver successfully out of challenging situations on a regular basis.

For all the above positions FLAWLESS (preferably American) English is a must. And priority would be given to innovative and resourceful candidates.

Who Else Do We Need For This Journey?

Though we might not have any immediate openings, we would be happy to create a few as long as your philosophy (oops – that sounds ancient, so let’s say as long as your calling) matches ours. Just bear in mind that the going will be challenging as we need hard and smart working and resourceful souls to walk – actually run around the globe a few times every single week with us. No passport or visas required for this journey as long as you are adding value to all stakeholders.

If any of the above positions sounds interesting to you, please apply with your Updated CV.

Please ensure that you mention Global Services in the subject line.
