Position Advertised For Vice-President – India Business Development (Male/ Female)
Location Mumbai
Range of responsibilities
Reporting to, and working intimately with, the Business Director - India, at the Buchanan Group India Office in Andheri, the VP India Business Development will be jointly responsible, with the Business Director, for maximizing the revenue potential of the business’s key assets, the 3rd Party branded advertising processes – Brand Power, Zoot Review, Great Chefs, Medifacts, 606 Product Networker and VoxPlug – across a number of media platforms and channels.
Key Accountabilities
Consistently be proactive in developing business opportunities by prospecting new Customers and also developing, managing and further mining existing Customer relationships:

Continue to educate new Customers as to the benefits of leveraging the Buchanan Group brands, and to promote these brands to ‘must buy’ status.

Communicate and work well with all internal teams (local and global) to ensure the smooth running of campaigns and ensure that the needs of both customer and consumer are met

Key Tasks and Activities
  • To proactively build and manage a portfolio of key FMCG customers.
  • To have regular communication with all customer contacts nationally.
  • To reactively and proactively provide proposals and scripts, both written and verbal, that meet the needs of ustomers.
  • To be able to develop and use presentations to uccessfully educate and sell to Customers.

You will reach and exceed the sales goals and all other targets set.
 
Qualifications and Experience
You have a Varsity degree, and an MBA in media, business, marketing, communication. You’ve had 8-12 years relative experience.

You are a rare breed indeed - a bit of an entrepreneur, a bit of a hybrid:

You’ll need to prove you’ve got what it takes to sell and you will be asked to prove your proven track-record as a frontline salesperson.

You’ve spent time as a FMCG marketer or Agency Client Service and you will need to prove you have an excellent appreciation of media, branding, marketing, TV production, ad campaign development, broadcast and multi-channel advertising. You will possess first class knowledge of the strengths and benefits of the various advertising and media platforms for FMCG brands. You will need to be experienced enough to talk with absolute credibility to Global Marketing Directors and Agency Heads and yet you’re still young enough to build relationships with young 24 year old Brand Managers and media planners.

Skills and Abilities
You are a master at persuasive communication (verbal and written), with an ability to effectively sell advertising campaigns that benefit Buchanan Group and generate excellent sales results for clients. You have a naturally fluid and enthusiastic presentation style. You’ve proved an ability to thrive and be productive under pressure. You are able to think and plan strategically…and have excellent relationship skills.

You are easily able to relate to a wide range of types of personalities and are adaptable and flexible.

Remuneration
  • In line with experience - basic and Performance based commission structure.
  • You will also participate in any Company incentive schemes from time to time.
  • You will travel a number of times a year internationally to participate in Advanced Sales training, as well as the annual Regional Conference.
