With magazines ‘Auto Car’ and ‘Overdrive’ leading the genre, the average issue readership (AIR) of the Auto/Cars segment has grown by 2 per cent over last year, and by 16 per cent over IRS 2009 R1. Entry of international titles like ‘BBC Topgear’ has already started showing positive growth…
However, 2010 was not a good year for Auto/Car magazine. It registered a decline of 3 per cent in AIR compared to Q2 2010. However AIR of the magazine has gone up from 1.99 lakh in 2009 R1 to 2.49 lakh in recent results of IRS.
Year-on-year growth was maintained for Overdrive as its readership grows by 66 per cent over R1 2009, taking its AIR up at 1.18 lakh.
Popularity of Auto India has continued to decline as AIR of the magazine nosedived to 87,000 in IRS Q2 2011 from 1 lakh in 2009 R1.
Readership of new entrant in the domain BBC Topgear has grown by 30 per cent over last year taking its AIR up at 86,000. Motor Vikatan was not surveyed in last two rounds by the agency.
