As per the IRS Q4 2010 results released on 14 March, 2011, three out of five most read dailies in Bihar have charted high growth paths. While, Hindustan has maintained growth in readership with maintaining top ranking; Prabhat Khabar has witnessed whopping double digit growth in quarter four. English dailies have also registered positive growth in AIR (Average Issue Readership) as compared to Q3 results of IRS.
Hindi daily Hindustan with AIR 46.25 Lac has managed to gain growth of 2.44 per cent as against the Q3 results of IRS. Meanwhile, decline trend has continued for Dainik Jagran in Bihar too. With marginal negative growth of 1.78 per cent as compared to Q3, the daily was ranked second in the list of most read dailies of the state.
In an interesting development, pushing Hindi daily Aj one step down in the tally, Prabhat Khabar has snatched third position. Prabhat Khabar garnered AIR 2.73 Lac in the Q4 result of IRS; an overwhelming growth of 27.57 per cent as against the previous results.
Hindi daily Aj has got an AIR of 2.59 Lac; a decline of 1.89 per cent as against the Q3 results of IRS. Meanwhile, Hindi daily Rashtriya Sahara has also managed to get growth of 4.90 per cent with AIR of 1.07 Lac in Q4 of IRS.
In English newspapers genre, The Times of India (TOI) and Hindustan Times (HT) has seen positive growth in readership in Bihar. While, TOI got AIR 1.54 Lac; HT garnered AIR 1.04 Lac.
