Sandeep Bamzai is a well known journalist and author who has worked in three different metropolitan cities – Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi – in the biggest media houses in the country in senior positions. From the Statesman in Kolkata which he joined even while he was studying in college to the long years spent in Indian Express, Illustrated Weekly, Times of India Group, Business India in Mumbai to the Hindustan Times and TV Today group in Delhi, Bamzai’s journey has been long and fruitful. A passionate cricket junkie, Bamzai has authored two celebrated books on the societal impact of cricket in India and one that he chose to write during a sabbatical after a long stint with Hindustan Times in Delhi. As an ode to his place of birth, he wrote what turned out to be the most definitive history of the accession of Kashmir to the Union of India. A keen watcher of the political economy, Bamzai has written several pathbreaking stories on the space where business and politics converge. One of his specialities of course is telecom, a sector which he has tracked with great gusto over the years, knowing the players, the policy makers and the sector.
