Zee to air Tehelka footage

Zee Network has decided to roll out six hours of exclusive footage from the Tehelka.com tapes during prime time across all its 14 channels beginning March 22. The spycam film will be broadcast between 9 pm and 10.30 pm every evening till March 25. The tapes will also be aired on Asianet.

However, sources in advertising agencies claim that the content is likely to be new. Small wonders the media company is hawking its commercial time at a whopping Rs 5 lakh per 10 seconds. Most advertising agencies claim that they received information about airing of the tapes only on Tuesday. However, they confirmed that most of their clients had evinced interest in buying airtime during the broadcast.

HTA’s media services director, Sanjoy Chakrabarty, said, “Since news audience has a male skew, male oriented brands would like to advertise during the show.” If Zee claims to have made an additional Rs 35 lakh on one day (during the Tehelka expose), it is bound to make a killing during the coming four days.
