Zee Telefilms’ new programmes fail to get an impressive rating

In a major setback for Zee Telefilms none of its recently launched programmes figured in the top 20 programme list of INTAM for the week ending September 2. Whereas Zee’s rival Star continued to rule the latest TRP ratings will all its programme in the top 20 list in the cable and satellite homes in 24 cities.

The ratings were released amidst speculation that TRP ratings are being fudged. The confidential peoplemeter homes list in Mumbai and Chennai were anonymously leaked last week.

On its part as expected Zee dismissed ratings as unrealistic. The officials discounted the ratings stating that the channel got large number of telephone response to its interactive programme “Aap Jo Blein Haan to Haan, Aap jo Bolein Naa to Naa”. This programme did not figure in the top 100 programme list. Zee, which does not subscribe to TAM ratings, is contemplating to stop its subscription to INTAM.

INTAM ratings was close in its research with its sister organisation TAM which showed 17 of Stars programmes in the top 20 list in nine market across the country. In total, 19 shows of Zee figured in the top 100 programmes for 24 cities in INTAM ratings. In the 15 market ratings of TAM Star had 40 of its shows in the 100 list compared to Zee 3 and Zony 8.
