Zee Sports frontrunner for 3-year broadcast rights

Zee Sports is the front runner to obtain the three-year exclusive broadcast rights from WSG Nimbus Pte Ltd., Singapore, for international cricket played in Sri Lanka.

Zee plans to air the Sri Lanka – England series in February on its proposed sports channel. The company is urgently seeking software for the sports channel, which it plans to launch in January.

ESPN-Star Sports has not made an aggressive offer but could increase the price to stall Zee from acquiring the telecast rights.
