Zee net profit down by 2%

Zee TV’s July – September net profit fell by 2 per cent as compared to last year. Net profit totalled Rs 53.3 crores, compared to Rs 54.4 crores last year. Its total income rose to Rs 267 crores from Rs 227 crores.

From the preceding April- June quarter, profit rose 46.52 per cent, boosted by increased subscription revenue after its flagship Zee TV channel went pay in June.

Zee Telefilms alone had a net profit of Rs 29.6 crore, down 7.6 per cent from last year. The Zee Network comprises the flagship Zee Telefilms and its subsidiaries including education, cable distribution and content production companies.

Zee Telefilms shares ended up 0.77 per cent at Rs 85.15 at the BSE, while its 30-issue benchmark index fell 0.5 per cent.
