Top-level restructuring by Sony Entertainment

Sony Entertainment Television has put in place a strategic team to strengthen its thrust in new media, corporate strategy and business development. Mr. Rajat Jain has joined the company as executive vice-president, corporate development and new media, Mr. Pawan Sharma will be the company’s general legal counsel. Mr. Shantonu Aditya has joined as senior vice-president, franchise channels and distribution.

Mr. Jain will report to Sony Entertainment Television chief executive officer Kunal Dasgupta and will focus on identifying and implementing new business plans. He will drive all new media initiatives of the group and will also assist in developing corporate HR strategy in keeping with the group’s expanding business needs.

Mr. Sharma has varied experience in international law, corporate finance, private equity investments, public offerings and acquisitions.

Mr. Aditya was chief executive officer, Hydrogas India, before joining Sony. He is expected to report to Mr. Dasgupta and is responsible for distribution as well as the franchise channels, AXN and CNBC.
