ThompsonConnect, the direct marketing arm of Hindustan Thompson Associates (HTA), has recently bagged a host of accounts worth Rs 14 crores, which includes, Wipro Ltd., Sangam Direct (HLL’s new retailing venture) and HLL’s ‘Surf Laundry Services’ and BPL Mobile Communications, among others.
For its new client BPL Mobile Communications, ThompsonConnect will be handling direct marketing as well as event management services.
For an effective marketing strategy, Indian marketers and advertisers are increasingly focusing on ‘non-traditional advertising media’ such as direct marketing and event management routes. Realising the significance of the below-the-line-activities, leading advertising agencies have floated independent direct marketing outfits in the last two years.
The major players in this segment include, Grey Direct, McCann Relationship Marketing, Draft Worldwide (Maa Bozell) and Lowe Personal, among others. At present ThompsonConnect handles the direct marketing accounts of Glaxo, United Distillers, Air India and Spice Telecom (in select cities).
ZestConnect, the event management branch of ThompsonConnect will be handling the mega event — Lakme India Fashion Week — from August 6 this year.
