Star to launch Junior Kaun Banega Crorepati on May 6

Star India has decided to launch Junior Kaun Banega Crorepati (JKBC) on May 6. The game show for kids will be aired between 10 and 11 am every Sunday on Star Plus. This is seen as an attempt by Star to increase viewership in the Sunday morning time band.

JKBC has attracted eight sponsors. To be hosted by film star Amitabh Bachchan, the game show will be sponsored by McDonald’s, Britannia, SSI, TI Cycles, Novartis, Cadbury’s, Nestle and Parle. All these sponsors have been signed on for a period of 13 weeks across Star Plus and not just for JKBC.

The format for JKBC will be similar to KBC. The point of difference is in the area of prize money. In JKBC, the prize money is given away when the child turns major to be used for further academic pursuits. The phone lines for JKBC are currently open to children in the age group of 10-18 across all schools in India. The level of difficulty will vary depending on the age of the child.

Khuljasimsim.com, the bargains portal and the Cafe series of portals, comprising cafemumbai, cafedilli and cafekolkata have merged to form Cafe Networks Ltd. The merger would now enable Khuljasimsim to enhance its presence through Cafe Portals in each of these metros, offering an extended range of services to its customers, while also gaining access to the diversified target audiences of the Cafe Portals for its bargains services.

The Cafe Portals, incubated by ICICI Eco-net will now be able to provide strong bargains service through Khuljasimsim, to its members, apart from the services currently being offered.
