Star Plus to do away with sponsorship

Star Plus has decided to do away with a handful of companies sponsoring its programmes and, thereby, enabling rival brands to advertise in its channel during the same programme. This would boost Star Plus ad revenue by 35 to 40 per cent. Currently Star Plus has more than 70 per cent of the ad revenue generated between 8 and 11 pm by the Hindi entertainment channels including Zee and Sony.
