Sony reopens talks with Pentamedia

Sony Entertainment Television has begun fresh negotiations with Pentamedia graphics to webcast three of its channels on the latter's streaming portal numtv.Com as pay channels. As per the original agreement, advertising revenues from the proposed streaming were to be shared by the two companies on an equal basis, while subscription revenues were to be shared in the 70:30 ratio. According to the market research agency Intam, 23 of the top 50 programmes continue to be on Sony, he said, adding this had remained unchanged even during the initial euphoria of KBC. The next two months will be crucial for Sony, since the channel plans to launch a host of new initiatives to boost its viewership and consequently its financial health.
