Sony Entertainment Television (SET) India has come up with a new programming strategy to consolidate its position in the 8.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The channel will be launching two new mega shows 'Dhadkan'-a hospital drama series and Hubahu.
While 'Dhadkan', will go on air three days a week (Monday-Wednesday) from February 4 at 8.30 p.m., Hubahu will go on air once a week on February 7 at 8.30 p.m.
"These two new shows are a part of our clear programming strategy to consolidate ourselves in the 8.30 p.m-9 p.m slot four nights a week, Mondays to Thursdays. With Dhadkan and Hubahu, we hope to add half an hour to our hold on the 9-10 p.m slot, which is one of our strengths," said Nachiket Pantavaidya, vice president-programming and production.
SET's programming strategy has so far been very clear. It has been launching new shows at regular intervals to make sure that the shows are consistently different.
The channel claims that the 9 to 10 pm slot is already in the bag with the Balaji Telefilms' soaps such as Kusum and Kutumb. And now the channel is targeting the 8:30 pm to 9 pm time band.
