SET to produce movies, set up Rs 100 cr fund

Sony Entertainment Television (SET) plans to raise Rs 100 crore to form a fund for producing movies. The fund will be owned by an asset management company and will be used to produce movies made by Sony Pictures. The company plans produce around 10 movies a year.

SET India has given the mandate to Ambit. The road shows to raise the funds will start soon in Mumbai and will spread to other cities.

SET India is scouting for a new CEO to replace its film distribution and production division unit’s chief executive officer Rajesh Pant.
