Sectoral cap blocks DD’s DTH plans

The Prasar Bharati meeting with various members of the Indian Broadcasters’ Federation (IBF) on DTH television services failed to yield any result yesterday. The issue of sectoral cap of 20 for broadcaster proved to be a stumbling block. After meeting Mr R R Shah said that until the government issues a clarification on what should be the total equity participation of the broadcasters and non-broadcasters in a DTH consortium, the IBF will not be able to progress on the DTH talk.
